What is OER?

OER is open educational resources. These are materials that the creator is willing to share with all without fees or copyright restrictions.  Creators may have limited restrictions on how these items can be used by others.  This guide shares resources for locating OER, explains copyright, public domain, and licenses of materials.  Sharing  content is bringing the world together in our endeavor to provide educational materials to all.

Open Access

Open Access is the term used to describe digital content that is freely available to all via the Internet without copyright or licensing restrictions. There may be some restrictions with the license.  This collection began with scholarly research articles, as authors wanted to share research in the form of journal articles with the world.  The collection has grown to include things in many digital formats including images, audio and video.
