General Research Databases

The databases below contain articles that were first published in newspapers, magazines and scholarly journals. Scholarly sources are your best bet, as there are articles from literature journals in these databases.

Click on Advanced Search. Search the title of work in "quotation marks." You may want to use the word "criticism" in the 2nd search box. Under NARROW BY, check the option for "Articles" under ITEM TYPE.

Check the options for full text and scholarly journals. Search the name of your work (use "quotation marks" if longer than 1 word). You may want to also search "criticism" or "literary criticism" along with it. Be wary of BOOK REVIEW results--you do not want to read a short book review, which just summarizes a work. You are looking for in-depth analysis of a work!
