ENGL: Horror in American Literature: Finding Books & eBooks

Reference Books

Reference books cannot leave their respective libraries. You can make photocopies of pages you need, and sometimes we can find the articles electronically, on a database. Just ask a librarian for assistance!

Criticism Series

The following series are shelved in the Reference sections at both campus libraries. These literary criticism series are heavily used by students and contain helpful information. Look in the back of the book for your author or story title:

Short Stories for Students
Poetry for Students
Twentieth Century Literary Criticism (TCLC)
Contemporary Literary Criticism (CLC)

Sharing Books Across Campuses

It is possible, and encouraged, to share books from the Bethlehem ("Main") and Monroe Campuses!

If your campus does not have a book that you want, but the other campus does, just visit your library's Circulation Desk. Give them the title of the book that you want, and ask them to send it to your campus. As long as the book is availabile, it should be mailed to your campus library within a couple of days. You can then check it out with your NCC student ID card!

Reference books cannot leave their home library. If there's an article in a reference book that interests you, we may be able to make a photocopy of the article for you. Just speak with a librarian at your campus library.

Using the Library Catalog

SpartaCat, the NCC Library Catalog, is an online tool that allows you to search for items owned by the Library. This includes books, encyclopedias, movies, audio, print periodicals, e-books, and more.
