HEAL 150: Contemporary Health: Library Databases for Health Articles

What is EBSCO Discovery Service?

EBSCO Discovery Service is a tool that allows you to search a large portion of the Library's collection using a single search box. Your search will return articles from our databases, access to ebooks, streaming videos and information on print books at both the Bethlehem and Monroe Libraries.

Database Search Tips

When searching a database, go in strong with a great search strategy!

Don't search for something too general, like

DIABETES.

You'll get too many results! Ask yourself, what do you want to know about your topic? Is there a certain group of people or even a location that you can concentrate on?

A better search strategy would be something like:

DIABETES

and

"YOUNG ADULTS"

and

DIET

In library databases, be sure to always choose the FULL TEXT option, so that you can read the full article on the screen.
