An informative speech:

• Describes or explains an idea, place, event, object, person, or activity.
• Provides facts and information about the chosen topic. 
• Educates your audience about the topic.
• Presents any possible viewpoints or perspectives of the topic objectively.
• Does not include your opinions about the topic. 

A demonstrative speech:

• Teaches your audience how to complete a specific task, reach a goal, or execute a process.
• May include step by step instructions.
• May include an actual demonstration or use visual aids. 

A persuasive speech:

• Takes a position on a specific topic.
• Presents an argument of one viewpoint or perspective.
• Convinces others to believe that viewpoint and share your opinion on the topic.
