Coming Soon to NCC: Spring 2025 NEH Speaker

New York City councilman Yusef Salaam will be speaking at NCC in Spring 2025. He was falsely accused of rape and assault as a teenager, and convicted as part of the infamous Central Park Five case in 1989. Salaam and the other defendants were eventually exonerated and released from prison, and he has since worked as an activist, fighting for the rights of prisoners and advocating for criminal justice reform.

These Library resources will give you an in-depth understanding of the miscarriage of justice that occurred in this case.
