Instruction is available for any NCC course in which students perform research. Sessions can be scheduled for the library classrooms, your classroom, or online through Zoom. Tailored to your assignment and students' needs, we provide:
- full-length classes
- 15 to 20 minute mini-lessons
- labs (independent search time with a librarian present to answer questions)
- recorded video lectures and tutorials
If you'd like a librarian to join your students in your Blackboard course and work with them throughout the semester, consider requesting an Embedded Librarian. Depending on your preferences, your embedded librarian could:
- respond to student questions on the discussion forums
- teach a class session
- provide video lectures or tutorials
- develop learning materials or research guide content for your class or assignment
- meet with students for individual research consultations
Developed by the librarians, learning materials are available to assist students before, after, or in place of library instruction, including:
If the above existing learning materials and support do not fit your needs, please connect with a librarian to create something customized to your class or assignment.
Faculty can hold library or personal teaching materials on the physical library course reserve shelf or digitally through Blackboard for students to use. For more information about reserves, contact:
Students in on-campus or hybrid courses can have make-up tests and accommodated tests for extended time proctored by either library's testing center, however, restrictions apply.
View more information about exam proctoring through our Testing Center.
Our print collections and databases are accessible to faculty and staff for professional and personal use in their entirety. To log in to our databases, use your NCC single-sign-on / Workday username and password.
Need something we don't have access to? Our Interlibrary Loan service can be used to obtain materials that are not available through the NCC Libraries.
Want to work with someone on your research or citations? Our librarians are available to meet with you for in-depth research appointments to assist you with your work.
